xrandr doesnt find monitor in 8.10

Hello,
in 8.04 i used xrandr to use my VGA output on my Laptop.

This does not work anymore, and xrandr does not even see a connected VGA anymore..

I googled, and found out, 8.10 uses xrandr 1.2, but it is supposed to work better with dualhead..

Any help would be apreciated
