This morning after update of firefox 3 update, when i open it, it takes all the screen, putting off the task bar and with not minimize/maximize/quit buttons... Working in this way in ubuntu and kubuntu (with emerald or kwin).

suggestions????

Sounds like you accidentally switched to full-screen mode. Hitting the <F11> key should get you back to the default layout.

I got the same thing after the update. But I did punch F11 twice to get Firefox to behave.

go to compiz settings manager, go to workarounds plugin and disable legacy fullscreen support :

1) Press F11 until you can see the title bar etc.
2) Resize the firefox window so its smaller that the screen.
3) Close and re-open firefox.

Should now be OK. If not another thread somewhere has a couple of other things to try.

So many topics on the same bug/glitch ...
Anyway your fix works for me, but only after logout/login.

I got a support call yesterday with this problem... i found this thread today, and when i called her back she said that the problem had gone away...

i told her if it happens again to try hitting f11 a few times

we'll see if it pops up again
