After upgrading using the Synaptic-Manager from Hardy 8.04 to Hardy 8.10 the system want boot anymore.
I still get to the login-screen but both the mouse nor the keyboard do not work anymore.

So I did a trial starting the system in rescue mode and the program finds a lot of broken dependencies.
Trying to fix the problem with sudo dpkg –configure -a want work (to many broken packages).

Also for some reason the system want connect to the Internet anymore.

I have a alternate CD with Hardy 8.10.
Can I recover the missing packages from that CD and how I have to do this? Do I boot from the CD or do I have to switch from the GRUB using recovery mode and the system finds the CD? I suppose as the computer can't find the Internet connection anymore there is no other way to fix the broken packages using CD.
