Now there was a list of a top 10 greatest geeks of all time as the title suggests so well: http://www.itnews.com.au/News/88617,the-top-10-greatest-geeks-of-all-time.aspx and linus was first which I find very good and i hope most of you agree with me but what came as a surprise is that bill gates wasn't on the list, not even an honorable mention which made me laugh quite a lot anywho i would like to know what you think about this list should gates be on it should someone else be on the list do you disagree with one of the rankings? Just post whatever you think.

Some names in that list certainly weren't expected. ;) Another honorable mention would be John Carmack.

While Alan Turing definitely had a great mind, it wasn't responsible for creating Colossus.

That was Tommy Flowers.

if you're talking 'greatest geeks of all time,' this guy should get a mention:

Leonardo greatly advanced the state of knowledge in the fields of anatomy, civil engineering, optics, and hydrodynamics, and even outlined a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. His inventions included several complex systems which were centuries beyond the technological capabilities of the Renaissance.[nb 3] Examples include the helicopter, the tank, concentrated solar power, the calculator and the double hull. Some of his simpler inventions, such as an automated bobbin winder and a machine for testing the tensile strength of wire, entered the world of manufacturing unheralded.[/URL]
