I upgraded from Kubuntu 8.04 (KDE3) to 8.10 (KDE4), and it actually worked!
However, there are a few little problems. One of which is the really weird icons...
For example, the K Menu has been replaced with the "return to first item" icon. My Trashcan has become the same icon as my Home directory. And a whole host of other applications have the blue ? icon (Volume, KDE Wallet, System Settings, all the Application folders in the K Menu...)
Changing my icon set in System Settings seems to have no effect, and I can't see any option that screams "Default Icon Set".
