I have a 64 bit processor, I am trying to install 8.10 amd64 alt. and 8.10 amd64 desktop but i get the following error with both alt. and desktop "I/O error reading boot cd 8042809F" with a reboot option saying reboot to try again.
I have ran 64 bit in the past.

Any idea's?

Is it indicative of a memory failure? The chances of 2 CDs both being corrupt is low so I would guess that the data being read is corrupted before be accessed by the CPU. Just a guess, mind you. I don't believe it can be the software as it would probably have been found by others by now. So (if you are sure that your CDs aren't corrupt) then it must be a problem with the handling of the data. But check your CDs again.....
