Hello All,
I am trying to install Ubuntu 8.10 on my system and for some reason it cannot find my SATA hard drive. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 along with Seagate Barracuda 500gb hard drive. I tried installing Hardy as well as Mint and neither can find the hard drive. I see that my BIOS isn't detecting either but in my experience that isn't unusual with sata problems. At one point I did manage to install Hardy with the line all_generic_ide, but that no longer seems to work on any of the distros.
