Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say hello to everyone.

I played with several distros in the past and I hope my previous experiences will be able to help others.

My current goal is to set up a "small" server to enable sharing of files documents and ideas though a portal of some type with friends, family and who ever else wants to.

From Toronto, eh? I lived in Toronto for a couple of years. What part of Toronto do you live in, if you don't mind me asking? I moved around a bit, living fist in the Don Valley area, then Weston, then downtown (Little Italy area), moving next to Scarborough and finally settling in Victoria Park. Beautiful city!

Anyway, welcome to the group!

canadianwriterman[/left]]Welcome, syncme. Are you using
Sympatico DSL?

I am with Sympatico and been with them for about 2 years now (moved from Rogers).

Quite stable connection (other than the occasional mail server hiccup),

I have using Suse to try it (before the upgrade to MSN) it did work.

I don't really use the email anymore ... i mostly use gmail now. Their mail systems used to have some dns problems so I ditched it.

Port Carling, Muskoka here!

Never been there but I know Bracebridge is nice in the winter. (My in-laws live in North Bay so we travel in that direction year-round.)
