Have you ever used vala?It converts to c but its syntax more like C# then c.

This is correct, but the Gnome/GTK documentation for C is richer than any other (I sometimes use it for Python as well). All you need to do is to translate how the documentation reflects in Vala which isn't hard. Also learn to read .vapi files - they are a good reference how this translation between C and Vala is done and you learn what all you can use in Vala.
