Okay, starting today I'll play a new, personal game, inspired by the Ubuntu Developers 5-a-day bug hunt. I wanted a structured, systematic way of helping people here instead of randomly keeping track of the posts I replied to, so I thought "what the heck". :)

These will be my personal rules in the forum from now on:

1 - I just searched the forum for five threads asking for help, which I could somehow give, and tried to help.
2 - I'll re-check those threads everyday and keep trying to help until the OP states that the problem is solved or I can conclude that it cannot be solved or worked around. I'll check them more than once per day if possible, but at least once I will.
3 - For each solved thread, another one will take its place. Always 5 threads, each day.

Anyway, here are the current threads:

(EDIT: I'm just keeping them in my personal profile now)

If you want to join me in this, post your personal fives here! ;-)

I'll keep an "archive" in this second post because some of the threads I try are not completely solved, but apparently abandoned by the OP and he might appear again someday.

A thread will be archived if it stays still for two days. But I'll still check them from time to time, they'll just have less priority.

Indeed, a great idea... I used to do something similar in the Gentoo community and I think I'm going to start up again.

Yeah, I think this will do. Each one keeps his list in a post of this thread.

But since edits do not bump a thread and this is not a sticky, more people will have to join constantly to keep this thread visible. ;-)

It's a noble gesture.

How about creating a subscribed threads folder where you keep the 5 threads that you are responding to? This will reduce your dependence on this particular thread.

Good idea. I'm underusing the power that this board gives me.

Whatever suits your taste... My rules are flexible. In fact, they are non-existent. ;-)

What is 5 but just a number? :)
