Hello, my name is Drew, and I'm new to the group. I just wanted to say hello and maybe to get to know you guys.

Also, I'm going to lurk in the IRC channel now, but I'd like to know what else I can do. I've heard there are meetings in the IRC every 2nd Thursdays and 4th Tuesdays, and there are also meetings in Rochester (which I can't feasibly attend, since I'm only a student and I live near Syracuse). Anything else I ought to know? Anything else I ought to do?

I will look for you in IRC -- Sundays I am usually on by 7pm.

If you want to join you can go here (http://main.newyork-ubuntu.com/Contacts/HomePage) and select join. You can also visit our wiki (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/NewYorkTeam) and follow the instructions there for signing up for the mailing list and joining the Launchpad team.

We are having a meeting at 7pm at Barnes and Nobel @RIT if you feel like making the drive. There are some folks active in Syracuse as well.
