View Full Version : [ubuntu] How to set up graphics?

Hey guys,
I finally got my Ubuntu 8.10 Installed! But im stuck on native 800x600 res and can't change! i dont think its detected my gfx card.
Im using a Dell Inspiron 8000 on ATi-Rage Mobility 32MB GFX card
Any hints?

have you enabled the driver for it?

in 8.04 there was a neat little program called. displayconfig-gtk client but I haven't found it for 8.10 yet.

Yeah I only just installed this so im really new to Ubuntu....
But the 800x600 gfx is rather annoying heh

if it doesn't give you the option to download and enable a proprietary driver you might need to use a third party application to make your life easier. such as envy

did you check under SYSTEM>Preferences>Screen Resolution ????
