Hi all,
Just a small, possibly stupid question...
Can anyone please tell me ho I can get usb storage devices such as usb memory sticks and external hard drives pop up as shortcuts on the desktop when plugging them in?

This has been working fine in all previous versions I've used since 6.04, and I got use to access them from the desktop and I miss to e able access the or unmount them form there.

It is not a big problem, just somewhat annoying because I'm used to those small convenient icons on the desktop. They actually used to be the only ones allowed there.

can anyone guide me in how to get my usb devices on the desktop back??

thanks

geir

click places, click the device, it should then mount and put an icon on your desktop.

Go to Applications->System Tools->Configureation Editor

Under Apps->Nuautilus->Desktop make sure that Volumes Visable is ticked
