I am new to Ubuntu and am having a problem saving a file to

another users folder even though I am in a group that should

have access to the other users folder. Details follow.

I have a user folder /home/joe/.

ls -l for folder joe yields

drwxrwsr-x 2 joe joe 4096 2008-11-14 06:19 joe

user mike is a member of the group joe but when mike tries to

save a file to the folder joe he gets the following error.

Could not save the file /home/joe/filename.

You do not have permissions necessary to save the file.

Help will be greatly appreciated.

sounds like an assignment... :) good luck with it.
Btw double check if you set everything up correctly, often people tend to overlook something, thinking it was correct when it isn't.
