My system has been weird and I wanted to reinstall Intrepid from scratch because I think some things got borked in the upgrade process. My friend said that if I simply reinstall to the root partition and keep my home partition unchanged, that *most* everything will be the same. What all will change? I'm pretty sure my xorg.conf is going to be regenerated, what other kinds of things are going to change? Is my desktop going to remain customized? Are all my programs going to still be installed?

1. As long as your re-installing, the existing ubuntu partition will be deleting and re-creating right.

2. And almost your Computer desktop will be re-creating and without changing anything on any other partition ( Existing Raw Partitions ).
