View Full Version : [ubuntu] "Failed to check for installed and available applications"

Just got this in add/remove applications and I have no idea why.

typed
gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list in terminal and here are my results.

thanks for any help.

And after opening Synaptic I get this error:

E: Type ‘“deb’ is not known on line 57 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialogue to correct the problem.

It may be worth removing the quote marks in the last line of your sources.list.

Also, is it a really good idea to have feisty repos in intrepid release?
