Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry, consisting of 17 syllables, in three metrical phrases of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively.

There are several Windows/Open Source/Gnu/Linux/Ubuntu Haiku threads on this forum, and I have compiled some of the best for everyone's enjoyment.

Credit is provided for the author of each set of verses.

Enjoy!

I feel like this belongs on the forums of another open-source OS...

What was it's name now?
I can't seem to remember
I think it's Onji...

He he... Thanks for bumping this thread! I hadn't seen those before...
Speaking of poetry, does any of you know any computer related works
by serious poets?

I don't know any "serious poets" who write about IT, but there are a bunch of Nerdcore rappers who rap on IT related subjects. Here is a link to the lyrics of I Remember, by Dual Core (ft. YTCracker) (http://lyrics.wikia.com/Dual_Core:I_Remember)

And don't discount "Weird Al" Yankovic; he has written several songs about computers, although his songs tend to be more about computer culture.

I do know about a poet who published a very original book with these magnificent poems where computers and the internet played an important role. For instance, many of the “poems” are simply genuine emails sent to famous authors, where he asks them to write a blurb for his book. It's the best stuff I've read in a long time! But unfortunately the book is written in my own native language, so I just kind of wondered if there a similar thing ever was written in English.
