Hi,

I am trying to install the Ubuntu 8.4 but I am facing problem while boot-up.

I booted my system from Ubuntu CD. When I selected to install Ubuntu, I get just blank screen with cursor blinking on top. Both my input devices Keyboard and mouse hangs!!!

Why is this happening??? My friends didn't faced any problem installing from the same CD!!!

Please help me!!!!

Thanks
Ram

Or you can always try the alternate CD.

I booted my system from Ubuntu CD. When I selected to install Ubuntu,

What happens if you select the "Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer" option? Or do you not have such an option? In that case, you should get the live CD and try that first; if you find it's working fine, you can then install off that.
