I have a Asus aspire one netbook here that i want to install ubuntu on. I've looked around a bit, and i think that it should work. I just have a couple of questions.
Would Ubuntu be the right choice? or do i want the one for low spec computers (xubuntu i think)

it has an Intel Atom (1.60 GHz, 2 cpu's) and 1021 MB of RAM.

Other than that, does anybody have any tips that may help?
If i really like it i'll consider switching my laptop over..

Well your computer should be able to run Ubuntu or Xubuntu, the only difference would be the graphics. With Xubuntu the graphics won't be as pretty as Ubuntu, because it is designed to use less ressources for less capable computers. In my opinion your laptop does not qualify as one of these low ressource computers. The only computers I think that would use Xubuntu would be from the 90s (Pentium 3 or lower, 128mb ram).
