I think Humanity is resilient, but I don't think it will be over soon.

Rather, it will be bumpy and nasty for a while, then calm down but linger like a cough that just won't give up even after all of your other symptoms have flown the coop!

I think it will be quite hard to discuss such a complex topic without venturing into politics. Sooner or later this thread will head in that direction.
