Disk doesn't show up in partition manager during installation Linux Mint 8.10 Felicia

So, I'm all stoked about upgrading to 8.10, I torrent the iso, burn a CD, reboot, start the install and ...
no hard-disks. Nothing, the partition management is blank.

Any idea what might cause this?

I tried with both CD and Unetbootin, neither of them worked.

PS. I wish I had been more specific in the subject, anyone know how to fix that?

I don't know why but I tried an install from USB device and it worked.

Now enjoying my file-manager tabs!
