[SOLVED] kubuntu boot cd error

I downloaded a kubuntu 8.10 release via the ubuntu.com site. When the iso was finished, I burned it to a dvd. Upon boot up, I get the screen with the option to try kubuntu, install kubuntu, and so on. If I click to choose "try" or "install" I get an error that reads "Error: CD boot error" with a reboot option.
Has anyone else encountered this problem with the kubuntu 8.10 release?
