So a few nights ago I ran the upgrade manager and upgraded to 8.10 from 8.04 and now the nvidia graphics don't work. I just get a blank screen when it reaches the login screen. I tried a clean install and things worked fine until I installed the nvidia drivers 177 using the driver install app that ubuntu ships with. After that the problem returns. I tried to get to the command line but the screen just remains blank. The system isn't frozen because I can ctrl-alt-backspace and see text on screen before GDM restarts.
