can i upgrade my kernel in ubuntu 7.10 to the latest kernel? can anyone provide me with detail step? Thanks, i am newbie in ubuntu.
Btw, is it possibe for me to upgrade my gnome in ubuntu 7.10 to latest gnome. i try to use ubuntu 8.10 before but it always hang.

A good place to start is through the "System->update manager" menu option. That will usually include any updates to the kernal that are available.

You could compile a later kernel.

the problem is it is not update to the latest version of kernel. i want to update to latest version.

Did you try System->Administration->update Manager as mentioned earlier.
It would first update the system and then upgrade you to the latest version.

i try already, it is not the latest version. I wan to know is it possible to upgrade to gnome 2.24 in ubuntu 7.10? thanks
