Is it safe to install the KDE 4.0 desktop in Ububtu. I am assuming after I install it,and on the next login in, I can now select KDE as my desktop?
Also, is the KDE 4.0 desktop found in my repositories?
Thanks in advance!

i instaled kde ontop of my 64bit install of ubuntu 8.10 last night and it seems to have worked without a hitch, just adds kde to the sessions at login
i used "sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop"

You may want to add one or two of the apps which are designed for it, as well. :)
