gconftool -- refresh problem (Intrepid)

Hi all,

In hardy I used the following code in a script to rotate the background:

gconftool-2 --type string --set /desktop/gnome/background/picture_filename "/path/to/wallpaper-file"

Whenever I used it in terminal or in crontab, it was working as expected

Now I have intrepid (as a new install), and the scheduled task doesn't work.
Any idea?
