Running 8.04 successfully for sometime. Upgraded from 7.04 and from 7.10 when the upgrades were offered over internet.

Have downloaded and made the CD of the iso file for 8.10. Can I upgrade using this CD from 8.04 to 8.10?

If you mean you have the LiveCD, no you can't. You can only upgrade using the Alternative Install CD.
