I'm trying to configure the touch pad in my notebook, I found I need to edit a file (11-x11-synaptics.fdi) but I can not get access as is in root, I'm not familiar to do it in the terminal,so I tried on just an editor and didnt work at all..
how is possible to turn on (SHMConfig), I have installed KSynaptics which ask me to enable it.
I can't get it to edit : (

Thanks

thanks I did that, made a shortcut of kate with root privileges, but now Ksynaptics says that I have the wrong driver or version.
I'll reinstall my driver which is the latest I think, it was the default 0.15.2-Oubuntu7
I should have over the 0.14 version right?..
Anyway thanks for the help, I'll see if I found another version to make it work..

I installed the version 0.14.4-1 and it wont even move, first I remove the other version 0.15
I'm going back to the 0.15.
I'm clueless...
