I'm planning to take pictures this winter of a lot of stuff... Like people's houses lit up for Christmas, etc... Once I get enough, maybe I'll make a flickr mosaic? And post that as my background!

Still the same as november: http://majikstreet.org/screenshots/111205.png

Wallpaper is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/majikstreet/26146020/
(PS: There are also some more san francisco pictures there too... those are the only remaining ones! I lost them all when I switched to linux- that was the one part that I didn't think about and I lost...)

Ciccio (the dude that made those icons) is an amazing guy as well as an awesome artist. You can see his work in my screenies. I use Alphacube GTK but modified. We're debating what to release my version of the GTK, since it's not that much different, but a few of the colors are different. The Metacity, though, is the Alphacube Condensed Light, which I just made from his original Alphacube Light. You can get the original Alphacube GTK and the Alphacube Metacity Regular and Condensed at gnome-look.org :-D

Anyway, screenies :KS

Mine's fairly basic yet since I just installed a couple weeks ago. Just Gnome with some MacOSX icons and StongLooks and NoirZ for the windows. Aterm is running in pseudo-transparent mode since I have yet to get true transparency working. I've also installed VMWare running XP Pro for those couple of Windows programs I just can't live without. I'm slowly working on getting a FluxBox theme together, but that will only be after I get the system itself working just how I want it.

Ampersand,

Do you want the source for my GnomeBar? I took out the main menu and made it much wider, and added icons. It's buggy with Breezy, but I just took out everything that didn't work with it. See here (http://photobucket.com/albums/c390/endersshadow7/?action=view&current=Screenshot-6.png)

They're desklets. Install the gdesklets and gdesklets-data packages, then 'gdesklets' should appear in the accessories menu.

Also, right click on one of the bars at the top and bottom of the screen and go to 'add to panel'. There are a few things you might find useful there.

Gkrellm theme: a customized version of Egan to match the e17 theme
Wallpaper: Enlightenment from La Rochelle, also found on get-e.org

Blank Desktop 2 (http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?image=empty4ov.png) (Sorry, could not get the thumbnail back for this one)

e17 theme: default

There are a couple of ways, in that screenshot im using xfwm4 as my window manager, instead of metacity, and it makes the windows transparent when you move resize them. but by following that guide that fog (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=21312) give you should be able to do the same effect by using transset to set the opacity of windows.

Nope. ATI cards don't have composite support at all, so I hear. I may as well be dealing with an old svga card: I get no 3d support, and even if I did I'd have no composite support.

This is my Gnome setup with breezy, running gdesklets and composite manager (hence the drop shadows).

woot, my desktop. I've played around with desklets and menus and the likes, but I didn't really like those. This one's good enough for me.

i still dont see how this is possible. I am running ubuntu with
gnome
metacity
amarok
vmware with win2k (office 2k3 and photoshop cs 2)
gaim
firefox
gdesklets
all at the same time
and with the eye candy the cpu still isn't bogging down and its only 1.5gb of ram which is hardly being used and an amd 2800+, I guess those nvidia drivers are swell.
