Hi !

I am going to get a new PC soon and now i wanted some advice concerning Installation and so on ..

System Specs will be:
4096MB-Kit GEIL Value PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL5
MD Athlon64 X2 5200+ AM2"box", 2x512kB
ASRock ALiveXFire-eSATA2, Sockel AM2, ATX
Club3D HD3650 512 GDDR2, ATI Radeon HD 3650, 512MB, PCIe
Excelstore ESJ8160S 160GB 8MB SATA II
Excelstore ESJ9250S 250GB SATA II
Samsung SH-223Q bare schwarz lightscribe
Samsung SyncMaster 2243LNX
Terratec Cinergy S PCI
Xilence Power 450 Watt / SPS-XP450.(12)

^^as you see i want to do a bit more than Programming on that machine ...:lolflag:

So what are your Recommandations concerning apps i will need and which distribution and also which Partitions ...

I whant Linux (most Likely ubuntu) as Primary op. system and then Win XP me and maybe Win vista as 2nd and 9000st Op. system ...

It is Important for me that i can use my PC as TV meaning i just press a button on the Remote control and the TV application opens fullscreen ...

I of need Netbeans to run Smoothly (so no Memory wasting) but also a healthy bit of Desktop effects and l33t looking ...

Oh and my ATI drivers should working withing max. 1 week .. :lol (on this sys i needed 1 year)

So what distro would you recommend me ?
kubuntu ?
And whats this ubuntustudio about ?
