I've Dual Boot Vista and Ubuntu on my SATA drive, there's no problem at all in both of them with SATA Drives

I only heard that you need to configure for XP only to work with SATA Drives

take care

+1

Ubuntu and Vista natively support Sata AHCI mode...With XP you need to do F6 and load the drivers on a floppy before installation, or else switch the Sata mode in the Bios to IDE emulation/legacy setting
