Ubuntu Hardy is too bright

Compare to other computer I use, somehow Ubuntu screen and everything has a very bright color. I already configured my Samsung LCD screen back and forth and it is still too bright.

For example, my "original" bold yellow color from a jpg file looks more like a diluted yellow in Ubuntu that I have right now.

Any ideas? Or maybe for Ubuntu users, we have to avoid Samsung products...

I haven't noticed that... I have a Samsung SyncMaster 920NW to which I usually connect my Compaq F700, and, I don't know, I'm not a graphic designer, but I didn't realize what you mention.
