Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG won't connect

I have a Gateway/mpc C-140 with an Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG wireless card. I can connect wirelessly using XP, but in Kubuntu 8.10 it will not connect. Ethernet works, but wireless is a mystery. It's pretty obvious I'm a Linux virgin, please help me out.

Well, I thought it was solved, but the fact that it worked a few times in a row must've just been a fluke. It doesn't work again. This sucks, because I now have to boot with Windows unless I want to plug into ethernet (aka I'm always in Windows now)
