View Full Version : [ubuntu] Install ubuntu on a pc without cd drive

Hello, i have an asus eee and it has pre-installed the xadros linux version. I dont like it so i want to install ubuntu, but this computer has not cd drive. what i can do? how i can make my usb flash memory bootable? cause im trying but Bios cannot recognize it.

Hi - you should check out eeeUser.com (http://eeeuser.com), or more specifically, the wiki (http://wiki.eeeuser.com) there. It explains how to install lots of different operating systems on your Eee - the list on the right of the wiki is where you need to look.

Find a computer with a cd drive. Boot from ubuntu 8.10 live cd. Use System->Administration->Create a USB startup disk.
