Hi all.

Boy do I feel dumb....I just pm'd the moderator because it seemed I couldn't post here.....and look at me now. (Sorry about that, Moderator! ;-)

Anyway, I was using Ubuntu Studio 8.04 at home and the "standard" Ubuntu 8.04 at work. They both have completely different desktops and, to be totally honest, I prefer the "standard" version. Ubuntu Studio's desktop, while a nice distro with some great apps, isn't all that user-friendly compared to the "standard" version.

So, I upgraded to 8.10 at work and really like Intrepid. I did it at home too (on the Ubuntu Studio distro) and was expecting to get a new desktop too. No such luck.

Could someone explain to this newb how to either:
a) download the "standard" 8.10 desktop (yeah, i'm not too sure what I mean by "standard" either....my apologies)
b) configure the Ubuntu Studio 8,10 desktop to appear like the "standard" Ubuntu Intrepid desktop.

Thanks for any advice!

Run in terminal:

sudo apt-get remove ubuntustudio-desktop
Then in terminal enter:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
reboot.
