If Live 8.10 CD Works, Will Full Install Likely Work Too?

I'd like to upgrade to from 8.04 to 8.10, but after reading the forums I little nervous--I'd rather not have to deal with big problems post-upgrade just now.

I'm running 8.10 from a live CD, and everything seems OK (after I adjusted sound settings). Should this give me confidence that a full install of 8.10 probably won't cause any problems either?

Yes, the probability is very large that a full install will cause you no trouble. Usually the full install works as well or better than running from the Live CD.
