Just installed Kubuntu, and things are going pretty well as far as configuration. Sometimes slow, but well. Now I suppose it is time to see if I can play music. I go into Amarok and don't have a clue as to what I am doing. I believe the program can suit my needs, I just don't know how to use it. The program is trying to play a music file that I downloaded off the internet through Amarok. However, I cannot hear anything, I just see the graphic effects of the file trying to play. Also, I am trying to play a CD, and I don't know what I am doing. Can somebody offer some tips and pointers on how to do this properly? Many, many thanks.

Update/edit: I have installed a few more tools such as Realplayer, XMMS2 and plugins for that, a cd ripper, etc. Still having trouble getting the cdrom0 to mount. How do I mount a cdrom0 if the CD is just in the drive waiting for all the right things to be in place so that it can be played?

thanks,
