reinstall 8.10 or upgrade again??

i upgraded to 8.10 from 8.04 and had a problem with totem overlaying my home page. (see upgrade fine - cant find home).
now i would possibly like to do another load of 8.10, but since i have already done an upgrade, can i do another upgrade from 8.10 over 8.10? doesn't sound reasonable, but i would like to get the totem back on without losing my current desktop and other loaded programs.

any help would be appreciated. thanks, len tyree.

Your best bet at this point is a clean install. Backup everything you need first.

SOLVED:

i will just leave it as it is for now. will possibly try to reload totem, the cause of my concern, at a later date.
