When I am booting up, the only thing I get, besides the annoying beep (which I would like to disable), is a partial sound file being played. How do I get it to play the entire sound?

Many thanks,

Open system>preferences>sound
From here you can select the login sound

Also through
system>administration>login window
you can do the same thing. Test the sound settings, and see if they play the entire sound.

I appreciate your attempt for help, but the thread is clearly marked as Kubuntu and as thus, your solution does not work. Sorry. But thanks.:guitar:

this a very popular bug .. It happens to me too ..
I dont hav a fix but may I suggest using a shorter login sound so that it is done playing before it gets cut off .. thats wht I hav heard ppl do ..
it doesnt annoy me .. so I jus left it
