Green and yellow screen when booting 8.10 live CD

I'm trying to install Ubuntu 8.10 but when I try to boot from the Live CD I get a screen that is covered in Green and yellow bars.
I have installed both Ubuntu 8.04 and 7.10 without anything like this happening

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my GeForce 7300GT video card.

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it

I figured out that I have to connect the monitor to the Video card using just the DVI connector and not both the DVI and AVI connectors at the same time
