Well It's a Mac. To your question, it depends on what you want to do.

Fair enough, get yourself something useful and less pricey, like a newer car first.

Are you serious? You'll obviously need something with more power than that.

I'd wait for something with more horsepower if you plan to install Windows 7. Ubuntu 11.04 should run ok.

I don't particularly like Macs, but you can use whatever you like.

No, it's not good enough. You might have to toss an extra 20 thousand dollars to get minimum hardware requirements.

Come on now.

Hmm. Well, it'll do for general web browsing, but you'll need a very lightweight setup. Seriously though, spend $200 more, and you have a decent machine going.

The OP is trawling, which is extremely closely related to trolling but in these circumstances far more enjoyable due to the absence of obvious disrespect.

Now is not the time to buy quad core pc's.

Intel's superior Core i7 cpu comes out this month and it has far more bang for buck.

If you really want a Mac then you are going to either settle for this quad core or wait, but other pc's with Core i7 will be available very soon.

If you're okay with MacOS, don't think twice. You'll have zero glitches, and with the kind of performance optimizations Apple has put into Snow Leopard, you'll probably not need to upgrade the machine for a long time.

But remember one thing : the Mac does not play nice with other operating systems. Even WinXP installed via BootCamp sucks big time on my MacBook (heating, low battery life, horrible display). Installing Linux is a chore and removing it afterwards is even harder, though it works much better than Windows once you get it running.

Your decision.

Zero glitches, lol. I don't think anyone here buys that kind of propaganda.

OMG the computer I could build for that kind of money.

you know, for that amount of money here, you could get a 2.6ghz machine, with 4GB of RAM and a 512 mb GPU (if you looked hard enough, you might be able to get a 1 gig one)
I have decided to move to another county.
on a side note
WTF IS UP WITH YOUR THEME. YOU MONSTER!!!!!!

If you made it yourself it will probably cost half that price easily, but i'm sure the Mac will look very pretty on your desktop and be less hassle.

I don't want to sound negative, so my short answer is: I might not.

What's wrong with it? :D

I still use Windows XP (Media Center edition) on this computer since I'm a gamer, and the Media Center theme is far better then the default.

XP's GUI was designed 8 years ago when the world was a giant cartoon. people are life-like nowadays and use sharper looking GUIs. but man I miss being a cartoon!

even when i have to use XP, i'll change the visual theme to ANYTHING... and if i don't have time for a visual theme... i'll at least change it to silver.

but green and blue? wth man?

oh, and for that kind of money, you could get a nice car and then you could get some chicks! and a nice social life!

no mac is worth a life

[EDIT] At first when i saw this, I thought it was extremely expensive... but then i noticed that it comes with a mighty mouse. so its worth it.

I would have gone for an extra 2L cross-polymerase gel storage and probably an additional quantum point holographic CPU. But I suppose your rig would scrape by.

I don't like the normal XP theme, but Royale Blue (my theme) is nice!

It's not that different from Luna, but it's a lot better.
