Hi,

I am new to linux and ubuntu (although use basic unix at work).

I am currently dual booting XP and 8.10 on a Samsung NC10.

Thanks to this forum, I have got a stable (although slow wifi connection using the built in Atheros card) - my thanks for that!.

The only issue (I am aware of at the moment) is relating to the keyboard. ½ the keyboard is set up as a numeric pad that should be used via the function button, however, it works the other way round - if I hit the keys 'UIOP' I get '456*' and 'JKL;' I get '123-'. but if I hold down the funstion key I get the correct letter.

Any one any idea on how to correct this?

I have tried random keyboard layouts via the keyboard preferences.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi. I also have an nc10 and it would seem that your num-lock is enabled.

Is the far left blue light on? If yes, then this confirms it.

To turn off num-lock hit Fn and F11 (this will also enable it again).

One question though - could you point me to the info what you used to get wifi working and have you got the mic working in Skype?
