View Full Version : [gnome] GL Desktop messed things up?

Ok so....I don't know exactly what I did here...but I've got some screenshots.

So basically I was tweaking a lot of different things, I had just removed a whole bunch of KDE apps (it's a long story but basically I had to install from a Kubuntu 7.04 live cd, upgrade, then switch to gnome), and I had installed a few gnome things.

My desktop looked like this:

and everything was running real nice and fast and worked fine.
Then I tried opening GL Desktop, and got an error message about not being able to save settings or something? So I closed it, but my desktop went to brown and things slowed waaaaaay down, and looked like this:

and it was almost as if it were trying to get settings from GL Desktop and another program at the same time.

I tried logging out and logging back in, but when it started up it was all slow and my background didn't show up. Logging in from a failsafe gnome session everything runs as fast as it should, which allowed me to post this.

So...I don't know exactly what is wrong but probably two somethings are conflicting and I can't figure out how to fix it.

This is the error that GL Desktop returns:

An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for gnome-compiz-preferences. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly.

Details:
Type mismatch: Expected list, got string

(if it's any help)

And, in the actual program, GL Desktop isn't even enabled.
