voice chat in aMSN??

hi,
i cant play sound in aMSN 0.97.2 for voice chat, i tried to configure Audio/Video from its preferences, and only webcam works. whenever i select different device for audio i get a red font error says that cant gain access to /dev/dsp, i have selected all the listed devices and i get the same error
hints???
