so for my school i cant get on the internet unless i drop my laptop off at the tech guys room for 30 minutes why they "configure it"...
this seems a bit long to get me on a wireless network (they use a thing called iPrisim to keep me off blocked sites and it requires a log in but i doubt they install it on my computer)
me being the paranoid guy i am want to know exactly what they will do to my computer
i will also accept ideas on how to simply get around this step (ive heard kids SSHing...but i dont know how to do this)

Getting around it isn't something that would be supported here on the forums.
I think your best option is to refuse to leave it with them without you overlooking what they're doing. Cite your privacy as the reason why :)

Buy a phone which you can connect to the internet through.

depends what ports are open, unless you HTTP tunnel it.

I doubt they would install anything. My old college would just check you had some decent security software, the latest updates, and scan the computer for viruses/malware.
The web filtering etc is rarely done via software installed to each machine because it would be too easy to turn off.

Not to mention the fact that it's illegal to install something on someone's computer without asking. Sony got in a lot of trouble when they put that kind of stuff on their CDs as "copy protection," and they wound up having to issue workarounds.
