I'm attempting to use Pidgin to chat with Google Talk protocol and keep getting a 503 error when I try to send a chat. Since this is the first time I'm using Pidgin, I want to make sure I have my buddies correctly added. When adding a buddy, what exactly do you input for your buddy's username? Assuming your buddy uses Gmail, do you put 'buddyname@gmail.com' or do you just put 'buddyname' as their username?

Is your pidgin configured correctly? Follow this guide (http://www.google.com/support/talk/bin/answer.py?answer=24073) on how to configure Google Talk's Protocol:

I found this (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Talk/thread?tid=340a73f5d851694d&hl=en) which seems to be similar or the same as your problem. None has posted an answer yet.
