I know it is possible to install Ubuntu to an SD card, but then it is required to go into BIOS to set the disk priority in order to boot the other installation.

Is it possible to have a dual boot system using the SD card and HDD. Where if I decide to no longer dual boot and remove the SD card(Ubuntu) nothing will have been changed in windows and it will boot normally(as it does now without the second OS installed? Then I can put the SD card back in at a later time and rest the dual boot?

I've heard about pressing the esc key at bootup but don't really know how that works is this an option for what I want to do? I would like ubuntu 8.10 but I am open to other options.

Thanks.
