I downloaded ubuntu-8.10-alternate-i386.iso, wrote the disk and with the computer running I inserted the disk and chose to upgrade. I may have messed up when I opted to keep the old versions of the menus because on reboot I was still in Hardy with no grub option to go to Intrepid. There are minor changes to 8.04 that have pleased me except for my Sun Systems Virtual Box. The following message is received when I attempt to start my WinXP machine.

The VirtualBox kernel driver is not accessible to the current user. Make sure that the user has write permissions for /dev/vboxdrv by adding them to the vboxusers groups. You will need to logout for the change to take effect..
VBox status code: -1909 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_ACCESSIBLE).

Result Code:
0x80004005
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {d5a1cbda-f5d7-4824-9afe-d640c94c7dcf}

I checked the permissions under the GUI Manage Groups and Users and I'm still there. I tried to delete and redo the permissions but it will not do it. I need to dop the same operation once more for my sister-in-law and I really need help.

Thank everyone in advavce.
