I recently upgraded Ubuntu from 8.04 to 8.10 and my mouse stopped working after the upgrade was done.
I have an older serial bus mouse, which I managed to get working in 8.04 by modifying the xorg.conf file, as described in the SerialMouseHowto document. However, these procedures do not work in 8.10 and I deleted the entire Ubuntu installation because it is now useless.
Is there a different procedure for getting a serial mouse to work in 8.10? It seems to me that the documentation needs to be updated. I wish that I had never upgraded, what a waste of time.
