Sorry if this a dumb question but Im stil fairly new Ubuntu, I would love to get this problem sorted out. I think the new version is great.
I have SET UP A Dual Boot on my computer to run Ubuntu 8.10 and also Windows XP PRO. I have a home network and print to a Canon MP180 which is hooked up to another computer that runs Windows XP pro.
If I boot into windows I can print via other computer , but cant print when Im in Ubuntu have tried to set it up using the smb:// on the Ubuntu but no luck. If I print using windows the name displayed in the print box is \\SHAZ\CanonMP180 Printer , I tried using this in the smb box on Ubntu but didn't work.
The details of the other machine are displayed in the computer system properties as Full Computer name: SHAZ Workgroup: WORKGROUP
Any help appreciated.
